Ethan, 27, software developer, Dubai. Desk life was breaking him. Training unbroze him.
Ethan wrote code for ten hours a day. He was good at it and genuinely enjoyed it. The problem was what ten hours hunched over a keyboard, year after year, was doing to his neck, shoulders, lower back, and a tension he'd stopped noticing because it was always there.
He'd tried the things you try: standing desk (used for two weeks), ergonomic chair (helped slightly), physio (helped more, didn't solve it), stretching routine (abandoned). The problem persisted because the cause persisted. He was still sitting ten hours a day.
A friend at work had been training at DKing Combat for six months and had stopped complaining about his back. The first two sessions revealed something specific: Ethan couldn't do several movements because his thoracic spine was locked from years of desk posture. Not injury — limitation. DKing Saad identified this immediately and worked on it directly.
"He told me I'd spent years training my body to be useful for one position. We were going to undo some of that. I thought he was being dramatic. He wasn't."
The neck tension had largely gone. He was sitting differently at his desk — not because he was trying to, but because his body had been reminded what upright felt like. His physio, at a follow-up he almost cancelled because he felt fine, noted the improvement without him mentioning training.
He trains at Max Burn Gym, Al Quoz 3, Wednesdays and Saturdays. He still sits ten hours a day. His body handles it differently now.
DKing Combat System is application-only training at Max Burn Gym, Al Quoz 3, Dubai.
